Pensions sector kicks off Dormant Assets Scheme extension

Aviva has successfully completed the first transfer of dormant assets from the insurance and pensions sector under the expanded Dormant Assets Scheme.

Aviva’s involvement paves the way for other financial services providers to join the Scheme from the Pensions & Insurance, Investment & Wealth Management and Securities sectors to add to the over £1.5bn that has already been provided to the Scheme from dormant bank and building society accounts in the UK.

Commenting, Oversight Trust Board Chair, Sir Stuart Etherington, says:

“We welcome this ground-breaking extension of the Dormant Assets Scheme which will help release substantial further resources to transform lives and communities across the country.”
