Four leading investment firms — Jupiter, J.P. Morgan, Janus Henderson and Schroders — have become the first from the Investment and Wealth Management sector to join the UK Dormant Assets Scheme. Their participation marks a major milestone in expanding the initiative beyond banking and insurance, turning dormant funds into vital support for social and environmental projects while safeguarding customers’ rights to reclaim their money in full.
Following new regulatory changes, the Investment Association and Reclaim Fund Ltd have worked together to open the sector to participation. With over £1 billion already released to good causes, this expansion could unlock an additional £240 million to boost financial inclusion, capability and community programmes — in line with the government’s 2025 Dormant Assets Strategy and the Oversight Trust’s mission to maximise public benefit.
